Accessibility
Everyone’s welcome at REEL. We believe the magic of the big screen should be for everyone, which is why we offer a range of accessible screenings designed to make cinema more comfortable and welcoming for all.
Below you’ll find information about the different types of accessible showings we offer, so you can choose the experience that works best for you.
Subtitled Showings
These showings include full captions, covering dialogue and key sounds, on the main big screen. Make sure to try out our closed caption system mentioned below.
AUDIO DESCRIPTION | HARD OF HEARING | CLOSED CAPTIONS
All of our screens are compatible with our Dolby Accessibility Solution (DAS), which can provide audio description, enhanced audio or captions for almost all of our films. Captions are shown on a small device that sits in your cup holder, while audio options are delivered through a headset. Just ask a member of the team when you arrive and they’ll be happy to help.
Relaxed Showings
These screenings are designed to feel more comfortable and accessible for guests with additional needs, including those who are autistic, living with dementia, or neurodiverse.
The lights stay slightly up, the sound is softer, there are no trailers, and you’re free to move around, chat, or make noise if you need to.
PARENT + BABY
Enjoy the latest films in a relaxed, baby-friendly environment. The lights are slightly raised, the sound is softer, and you’re free to move around, feed, or settle your little one whenever you need to. It’s all about giving you the chance to enjoy a trip to the cinema without worrying about disturbing anyone. You’ll get a free hot drink (and refills) with your ticket.
SENIOR SCREEN
A relaxed and friendly way for those 60+ to enjoy a film. With specially selected titles, quieter daytime performances, and the chance to meet fellow film lovers, it’s the perfect excuse to get out, switch off, and enjoy the big screen. You’ll get a free hot drink and biscuit with your ticket too.
